VÉDETT!! / PROTECTED NO EXPORT 1868 Ferenc József (1830-1916) király levele Lónyay Menyhért (1822-1884) pénzügyminiszterhez. A levélben a katonai Határőrvidék közigazgatásával kapcsolatos lépésekben egyeztetnek. A Határőrvidék a Magyar Királyság területén belül kialakított, de közvetlen császári kormányzás alatt álló terület volt a török hódoltság végétől kezdve. XIX.sz. végi fennállását már nem indokolta semmi, és a magyar közvélemény rendkívül sérelmesnek tartotta. A kiegyezés után azonnal napirendre került a felszámolása, ami végül teljes mértékben csak 1870-ben következett be. Ferenc József autográf aláírásával, valamint Lónyay autográf "vettem, 31/7 Lónyay" feljegyzésével. Két beírt oldal, császári címeres levélpapíron. / 1868 Letter from King Franz Joseph I (1830-1916) to Menyhért Lónyay (1822-1884), Minister of Finance In this letter, King Franz Joseph I and Minister Lónyay discuss critical administrative decisions concerning the military Border Region (Határőrvidék). This region, situated within the boundaries of the Hungarian Kingdom but under direct imperial administration, has a complex history dating back to the end of the Ottoman rule. By the late 19th century, its continued existence faced scrutiny and discontent among the Hungarian populace. The imminent dissolution of the Border Region was a prominent topic following the Austro-Hungarian Compromise, and it was eventually fully realized in 1870. The royal letterhead paper features the autograph signature of the emperor, while Minister Lónyay has left his own autograph annotation on the letter, which reads: "Received, 31/7, Lónyay."
