Velence, 1719, Sebastiano Coleti, 290+9 p.+ 1 Buda 1686-os ostromát ábrázoló kihajtható rézmetszet. Giovanni Francesco Gemelli Careri (Taurianova 1651- Nápoly 1725) itáliai jogász, kalandor és utazó. Nápolyban a jezsuita kollégium jogot tanult, és itt is doktorált, majd jogi pályára lépett. 1685-ben otthagyta az állását és körbeutazta európát, eközben részt vett a Buda felszabadítására indult hadjáratban, amiről ebben a műben számol be. 1687-ben tér vissza Nápolyba, majd megírja a magyarországi, és az európai útját is. (1689 'Relazione delle Campagne d'Ungerhia', 1693 'Viaggi in Europa') 1693-ban világ körüli útra indult, később az öt évig tartó utazásról írta az 1699-ben kiadott 'Giro del Mondo' c. művet. Ez az útja inspirálhatta később Jules Vernét a Nyolcan nap alatt a föld körül c. könyv megírására. A könyvben szereplő rézmetszetet feltételezőhetően Andrea Magliar metszette. A metszet eredetileg az 1704-ben kiadott Gemelli: Viaggi di Europa (Nápoly, 1701-1704 , Giuseppe Roselli.) második kötetében szereplő metszet alapján készült. A metszet alján lévő leírások alapján beazonosíthatók az ostromlott Buda körüli seregek, erődök, helyek, 27x33 cm. Korabeli papírkötésben, a gerincén cím felirattal 'Gemelli Giro del Mondo T. VIII.', olasz nyelven, az elülső kötéstábla belsején 'Ad usum F. Josephi Antonii Ferrari Min. Con. de Modoetia' kézírással bejegyezve, a címoldal belsején kissé kopottas pecsét 'Congregatio Minorum Conventualium Sancti Francisci Lombardiae Australis'. Giuseppe Antonio Ferrari (?-1775) monzai ferences szerzeteshez, teológushoz, filozófushoz köthető bejegyzés, amit a pecsét is megerősít. Szép állapotú. Giovanni Fransesco Gemelli Careri (Taurianova 1651- Naples 1725), Italian lawyer, adventurer and traveller. He studied law in the College of Jesuits in Naples, and doctorated here. Then he was working as lawyer. In 1685 he travelled around Europe, and in Hungary he joined to the Christian armies besieging Buda. He returned to Naples in 1687 and wrote the Hungarian, and Europian trips. He went to world tour in 1693, it lasted for five years, and this trip may have inspired the work of Jules Verne's Around the World in Eighty Day. The foldable copper-engraving presumably made by Andrea Magliar. It published originaly in 1704, the second book of Gemelli Viaggi di Europa (Naples 1701-1704, Guiseppe Roselli.) The engraving told the siege of Buda, and it shows the armies, fortresses and places, 27x33 cm. Contemporary paperbinding, with title writing on the spine 'Gemelli Giro del Mondo T. VIII.', in Italian language, with a hand writing on the back of the first cover 'Ad usum F. Josephi Antonii Ferrari Min. Con. de Modoetia', with seal on the back of the front page 'Congregatio Minorum Conventualium Sancti Francisci Lombardiae Australis'. It refering to Giuseppe Antonio Ferrari (?-1775) Franciscan friar (theologist, and philosopher) in the Italian city of Monza (Modoetia). In good condition. Rare and special.
